Florence

verse:

My fellow man,

Won't you listen well?

To all the things I'm telling you.

We're kissing hands,

And taking names.

To make believe it'll sound so true.

Those summer days,

They come and go.

But no one cares except the ones who have been there.

Your throat goes dry,

Your cover's blown.

chorus:

I know it sounds so wrong,

But please please try it.

I know it sounds so wrong.

verse:

So turn your back,

And walk away.

With broken legs and DUI's and...

Who really cares,

What they say?

chorus:

I know it sounds so wrong.

But please please try it.

I know it sounds so wrong.

But please please try it.

The title "Florence" has no apparent meaning. The songs itself was written simply to rock solid for nearly 6 minutes. Derek holds down the fort on bass, Austin keeps the song chugging on drums and Alex and Daniel lay down some nasty guitar tracks.

Daniel wrote the lyrics and the primary riff, while the bridge and outro are a collaboration of the band as a whole.

"Florence" first appeared on the Demonstration IV LP.
